Nicolas de Borchgrave is a Brussels-based filmmaker and D.O.P. with a passion for visual storytelling. If you have a project in mind, please get in touch.
At Cedar Films, every project is made in a commitment to telling authentic and timeless stories. The cedar tree, majestic and unwavering, embodies this vision. Its roots delve deep into the earth, symbolizing stability and resilience in the face of doubts. This tree, a symbol of Lebanon, also reflects my heritage and the importance of sharing stories rich in legacy and sincerity. Like the cedar, our creations rise with strength and elegance, guided by values of integrity and timeless beauty.
In recent years, I have focused more on directing documentaries and commercials while maintaining a continuous activity in corporate filmmaking. This balance provides both creative freedom and a solid structure, offering stability that allows me to choose projects that are important and meaningful to me.
This path led me to follow the Tour de France, cross Africa from Burundi to South Africa, travel to the North Cape, the Highlands, and many more places. Experiencing so many different things has helped me develop an open-minded approach to all the themes present in my films
Through Cedar Films, I aim to create works that are both powerful and subtle, where every image has a meaning of authenticity and respect.
